2014 Festival At Le Quy Don
On Friday, January 17th, I attended the annual celebration and festival at Le Quy Don Private Primary School. I have been teaching at Le Quy Don for a while, but Friday was a uniquely special Day. I think it was a special day for everyone, including all of the students and their parents, as well as all of the staff at Le Quy Don. Overall, the day was a huge success and obviously fun for everyone involved!

Two staff members and I helped facilitate a question and answer game in the middle of the front courtyard. Students waited in line for their turn to answer questions regarding Tet Holiday. I found the students to be quite knowledgeable, and their enthusiasm to answer the questions in English was great to witness. I saw many people getting fresh and stylish face paintings, so I decided to join them and get my face painted too.

I saw Mr. Steve and some other staff members running a “bottom fishing” activity that was making everyone laugh. Next to the fishing fun, there was a ring tossing game that I found rather difficult and challenging. I never gave up and finally tossed the ring around one of the bottles. Also, there were many other activities that the students were enjoying like the “Sack Race” and “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”.

As my wife and I walked around to the various booths, we started to smell some delightful things to eat. Among the food that we saw and ate were cheese sticks, meat sticks, bread sticks, sausage, and many other snacks and candies. My favorite food at the celebration was definitely the marinated pork - with a little bit of chili sauce on top. All and all, the food provided at Le Quy Don on Friday was excellent!

In conclusion, I would like to send a big thank you to the Board of Directors at Le Quy Don as well as the English staff for organizing many of the fun activities
